Zebra Computers 20th Anniversary!

A Legacy of Service Since 2006

In 2026, Zebra Computers is proud to mark a significant milestone: 20 years under the leadership of Michael Painter. While our roots go back even further to the late 90s, 2006 was the year Mr. Painter bought the business from Jim Wood. We became the “Zebra” you know today—a dedicated, locally-owned hub for high-quality computer sales, custom building, and professional networking. Under the direction and hands-on talent of a guy that has had his head stuck in a computer since the mid 90s 🙂

Our Journey at a Glance:

The Transition: In 2006, Michael Painter became the owner and president, officially establishing Expert Computer Technologies Inc. dba Zebra Computers.

Community Trust: Over the last two decades, we’ve grown from a small shop that mostly cleaned malware off of Windows 98, XP and Windows 2000 computers, to a trusted Microsoft Partner through several iterations of their programs.

We have helped thousands of clients achieve their technical goals.

Innovation & Speed: From our popular “ZebraZoom” SSD upgrades to advanced disaster recovery, we’ve evolved alongside technology to keep our clients ahead of the curve. Furthermore we spend resources on research and development of innovative solutions. Our latest venture is locally hosted Large Language Model AI servers. So folks can use AI to save them time, and keep their data private.

Why Zebra Computers?

We don’t just fix computers right; we build relationships. Whether you are a “computer geek” or a first-time user, our mission for the last 20 years has remained the same: to communicate clearly, develop trust, and ensure your technology works for you. And we always try to add value to the proposition; sharing knowledge, teaching folks to fish rather than just selling them one; to help make them more familiar and self sufficient.

Looking to the Future

As we celebrate this 20th anniversary, we want to thank you; our loyal customers. We look forward to continuing to provide top-tier in-shop, onsite and remote support for the next 20 years and beyond.
